Nigeria's multidimensional poverty analysis: A subgroup and dimensional breakdown

This study is an attempt to analyze the nature of multidimensional poverty in Nigeria light recent data. The used data from Nigerian standard living and measurement survey (LSMS) 2018/2019 estimate overall MPI for Nigeria, which included six indices deprivation four dimensions: consumption, education, energy, housing. also performed a decomposition across regions, as well dimensional breakdown regions. According study, Nigeria's index 0.34, with headcount ratio 0.64 when cutoff 1, implying that roughly 64 percent Nigerians are poor at least one areas studied. North West, East, Central on other hand, account majority poverty, accounting more than 70% country's total poverty. South West has lowest rate, followed by East. Deprivations Education, Energy, Consumption, Housing, according report, most significant contributors MPI. recommends policies aimed reducing must take into distribution so be able get targeted audience. Secondly, there need improve investment Education Energy reduce Nigeria.
